About the Role

As a Fleet Engineer with Metroline, you will be responsible for managing the Engineering function in the depot and reporting directly to the Engineering Director. You will lead a team of staff, including Workshop Managers, skilled and semi-skilled technicians, coachmakers, electricians, cleaners/shunters, clerks, stores personnel, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all maintenance work is documented accurately and in compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Manage and control the engineering budget, ensuring that all operations are conducted within the financial parameters set by the company.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for the procurement, maintenance, and repair of plant and equipment.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on vehicle availability, maintenance performance, budget adherence, and H,S&E metrics.
Requirements

Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for all types of vehicles operated by the garage is essential. Bus bodywork repair/maintenance experience is also required.
