Research Associate/Fellow Opportunities

We are seeking two experienced researchers to join our team as Research Associates/Fellows in Population Genomics and Evolutionary Ecology. The successful candidates will work with Professors Andrew MacColl and Levi Yant on a NERC funded project investigating the genomic basis of mate choice and migratory differences between ecotypes in three-spined stickleback fish.

Position 1: Research Associate in Evolutionary Population Genomics

  • Lead on analysis and publishing of substantial whole-genome resequencing datasets
  • Use bioinformatic tools and software packages to investigate the origin, history, and patterns of selection in stickleback ecotypes

Position 2: Research Associate in Evolutionary Ecology/Behaviour

  • Carry out field sampling and experimental work to investigate the genomic basis of mate choice and migratory differences between ecotypes
  • Work with the team to understand how these differences are maintained by selection

To be successful in this role, you must have a PhD in a relevant subject and a track record of publishing your research in relevant journals. You should also have experience working with large-scale genomic data and a strong background in population genomics or evolutionary ecology.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
