We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Assistant to contribute to our project at the University of Nottingham, focusing on scaling up synthetic biology capabilities by achieving modular assembly of synthetic chromosomes.

About the Project

The successful candidate will work under the leadership of Dr. Benjamin Blount and Prof. John Heap, utilizing engineering biology, synthetic genomics, and combinatorics approaches to design and produce genome-scale genetic circuits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and assemble novel genetic circuits using synthetic biology tools
  • Analyze and optimize circuit performance using computational models
  • Collaborate with the research team to integrate new technologies into existing projects

Requirements:

  • PhD in Synthetic Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field
  • Strong background in molecular biology, genetics, and bioinformatics
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
