About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our small Finance Department at Nominet. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in providing financial analysis and support primarily to the Technology Function and various stakeholders within the company.

Your primary responsibility will be conducting financial analysis, preparing reports, and providing insights to support decision-making and financial planning. This includes:

  1. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial performance metrics.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the development of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans for assigned business units.
    • Monitor actual performance against budget/forecast, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Assist with system enhancements and implementation of financial software/tools.
  3. Financial Performance Management:
    • Monitor key financial performance indicators and provide analysis and insights on business unit performance.
    • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate them effectively to relevant stakeholders.
    • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed projects, initiatives, new contracts, and capex investments.
  4. Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business unit leaders and department heads.
    • Collaborate with finance accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided to stakeholders.
    • Support ad-hoc initiatives and projects as required.

About You and Your Experience

You should have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and be working towards a professional certification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA. Previous experience as a finance analyst or similar role is essential, especially in the technology industry. Additionally, you should have strong proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel, as well as familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
