Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Support Specialist to join our team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Switchboard team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support to our patients and staff.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of healthcare terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays, and be flexible in your approach to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and staff via the switchboard.
  • Respond to internal emergency calls and act as an intermediary between STH Telephone Engineers for fault reporting purposes.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to ensure the smooth operation of the switchboard service.
Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE level at Grade D/3 or above in Maths & English or equivalent experience/qualifications.
  • Experience working in a role which places emphasis on communication/customer care.
  • Understanding of healthcare terminology and the basic structure of a hospital environment.
