Electronics Design Engineer Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at BlueGate Consulting. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing new products and maintaining/upgrading existing ones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic systems, including schematic, PCB layout, and software design
  • Specify microcontrollers for embedded systems and program in C
  • Ensure thorough testing and validation of designs before release for manufacture
  • Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to select cost-effective technologies
  • Provide engineering support to other parts of the business as needed

Requirements

  • Degree in electronics or related field
  • Experience in design for manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of analogue and digital circuits, PCB layout, and programming languages (C, Python)
  • Practical experience with hand-building and debugging prototype circuits

Desirable Skills

  • Programming in VB/VBA
  • LEDs for lighting applications
  • Lighting controls and sensors
  • SMPS and battery charging
  • EMC knowledge
