Electronics Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at BlueGate Consulting. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the design of new products and the maintenance and upgrade of existing products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic products from conception to volume manufacture.
  • Manage design projects from a technical perspective, cost, and product brief.
  • Produce practical, robust, and cost-effective electronic designs with appropriate documentation.
  • Specify microcontrollers for embedded systems and program in C.
  • Ensure full test and validation of designs to specification before release for manufacture.
  • Lead the development of production test solutions and support NPI.
  • Work with purchasing and suppliers to select cost-effective technologies.
  • Aid junior engineers in developing their skills and provide engineering support to other parts of the business as required.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level education in electronics.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of analogue and digital circuits and PCB layout.
  • Programming skills in C for embedded design and Python for testing solutions.
  • Practical experience in hand-building and debugging prototype circuits.
