Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Bluegate Consulting Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the design of new products and the maintenance and upgrade of existing products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic products from conception to volume manufacture
  • Manage design projects from a technical perspective, cost, and product brief
  • Produce practical, robust, and cost-effective electronic designs with appropriate documentation
  • Specification of microcontroller for embedded systems and programming in C
  • Ensure full test and validation of the design to specification before release for manufacture
  • Test and report for compliance to the relevant standards
  • Create a production test solution
  • Lead DFM and support NPI
  • Work with Purchasing and suppliers to select the most appropriate cost-effective technology
  • Aid junior engineers to develop their skills
  • Engineering support for other parts of the business as required
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level in electronics
  • Experience in design for manufacturing environment
  • Experience of analogue and digital circuits and PCB layout
  • Programming in C for embedded design (ideally STM32)
  • Programming in Python to facilitate testing solutions
  • Practical experience of hand building and debugging prototype circuits
