Job Description

As an Embedded Systems Engineer in our medical device development team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing compact, high-performance embedded systems for edge computing and connectivity. Your expertise will be essential in providing engineering support to the design architecture, development, and selection of basic hardware components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing engineering support to the design architecture, development, and selection of basic hardware components using fundamental electrical engineering principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Working on both initial design and detailed design activities as the maturity of the design progresses through its development phases.
  • Developing or improving circuit boards (schematic and layout) using CAD software.
  • Generating or improving CAD library symbols and footprints.
  • Supporting the fabrication and testing of prototype or deliverable hardware, documenting and presenting results.
  • Supporting unit and compliance testing and test documentation of existing products.
  • Participating in preparing and documenting Bill of Materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering and components.
  • Able to read electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams.
  • Able to detail design electrical circuits and PCB schematics.
  • Eager to learn and develop.
  • Knowledge and use of basic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.
  • Ability to work with serial communication protocols like UART, SPI, and I2C.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

Candidates with experience in electrical engineering CAD software, medical device industry, VHDL/Verilog, MATLAB, Embedded-C, strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team environment, strong communication skills, technical writing, debugging, and problem-solving skills are highly desirable.
