Embedded Systems Engineer Job Description

We're looking for a highly skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team at Unreal Gigs. As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge embedded systems that power IoT devices, autonomous robots, and other cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Embedded Systems: You'll work with hardware engineers, software developers, and product teams to create custom hardware solutions for real-world applications, focusing on performance, stability, and power efficiency.
  • Firmware Development and Optimization: You'll write and optimize low-level firmware for embedded systems using programming languages like C, C++, or Python, ensuring the firmware is robust, efficient, and designed to handle real-time tasks with minimal power consumption.
  • Hardware-Software Integration: You'll collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between hardware components and software, working on interfacing sensors, peripherals, and communication modules with embedded processors.
  • Debug and Test Embedded Systems: You'll use debugging tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers to troubleshoot and optimize embedded systems, performing rigorous testing to validate system stability, performance, and compliance with design specifications.
  • Optimize for Power and Performance: You'll design embedded systems with a focus on optimizing power consumption and performance, balancing the needs of real-time processing with low-power operation to create systems that are efficient, responsive, and reliable.

Requirements:

  • Embedded Systems Development Expertise: You'll have extensive experience designing and developing embedded systems using microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, PIC, AVR, STM32) and processors, with proficiency in writing low-level firmware and understanding hardware-software interactions.
  • Firmware Programming: You'll have strong programming skills in C, C++, and assembly languages, with the ability to write efficient firmware for microcontrollers and optimize for performance and debug hardware interfaces.
  • Hardware Integration: You'll have proficiency in interfacing sensors, communication modules (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi), and actuators with embedded systems, with experience with I2C, SPI, UART, and other communication protocols.
  • Power and Performance Optimization: You'll have expertise in optimizing embedded systems for low power consumption, battery efficiency, and high performance, especially in real-time operating environments.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree: You'll have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field, with equivalent experience in embedded systems development highly valued.
  • Certifications or additional coursework: Certifications or additional coursework in embedded systems, firmware development, or hardware-software integration are a plus.

Experience Requirements:

  • Embedded systems development experience: You'll have 3+ years of experience in embedded systems development, with hands-on experience designing and deploying embedded solutions in production environments.
  • Proven track record: You'll have a proven track record of developing and optimizing embedded systems for industries such as IoT, automotive, robotics, or consumer electronics.
