Support Worker

Job Purpose
To empower individuals with learning disabilities to live fulfilling lives, promoting their independence, wellbeing, and choice. The role involves providing day-to-day care and support to enable service users to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality - Maintain high standards of service provision by meeting quality expectations and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Own Development - Continuously review and develop own performance to assist growth and development, participating in training and development opportunities as agreed with the line manager.
- Health and Safety & Risk Management - Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining good housekeeping, completing risk assessments, and taking personal responsibility for own safety.
- Compliance - Ensure compliance with internal and external standards and codes of conduct by meeting regulatory requirements and adhering to the organisation's Code of Conduct.
Service User Support
- Support individuals with personal care, housekeeping duties, and promoting their rights and responsibilities.
- Deliver agreed support packages to quality standards, liaising with external professional groups as necessary.
- Ensure record keeping is maintained to the required standard and contribute to service monitoring requirements.
Service Development & Quality
- Contribute to the development of the service by ensuring the organisation's person-centred approach is embedded in day-to-day delivery.
- Proactively suggest improvements and assist in the implementation of new ways of working.
Empathy and Support
- Provide empathy and support to service users, working with them to meet their needs and personal goals.
- Promote independent living through service users' personal choice, advocacy, and support.
Moving and Handling
- Enable individuals' mobility, including moving and handling transfers, pushing wheelchairs, and assisting with walking aids.
Community Access
- Support individuals to access the local and wider community, visiting local amenities and carrying out activities on foot and public transport.
Salary Expectations
Regular: £11.50/hour
Regular Nights: £12.50/Hour
Saturdays: £12.50/Hour
Sundays: £13.50/Hour
Saturday Nights: £13.50/Hour
Sunday Nights: £14.50/Hour
Bank Holiday: £14.50/Hour
Bank Holiday nights: £15.50/Hour
Sleep Shift: £35
