Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our CAMHS Crisis Intervention/Intensive Treatment Team, you will play a vital role in providing timely access to specialist services for children and young people who present in crisis or who present a significant and immediate risk to themselves or others.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality care to children and young people, managing your own caseload and working autonomously and as part of the team.
  • Develop good working relationships with key professionals across the district, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice within the service, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies, and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.
  • Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating bodies, keeping up to date on new recommendations and guidelines set by the Department of Health.
Requirements:
  • Post Graduate Certificate for Low Intensity Therapies (IAPT) or equivalent qualification.
  • Substantial mental health working experience, including voluntary work or expertise gained by experience of mental health problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients, demonstrating an understanding of mild to moderate mental health problems, including anxiety and depression, and how it may present in Primary Care.
