Job Title: Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS Crisis Intervention/Intensive Treatment Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing timely access to specialist services for children and young people who present in crisis or who present a significant and immediate risk to themselves or others.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality care to children and young people in crisis, working autonomously and as part of the team to assess and support their needs.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key professionals across the district, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage your own caseload, providing timely interventions and support to meet the needs of young people and their families.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice within the service, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies, and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.
Requirements:
  • Post Graduate Certificate for Low Intensity Therapies (IAPT) or equivalent qualification.
  • Substantial mental health working experience, including voluntary work or expertise gained by experience of mental health problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients and work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage own caseload and time effectively.
