Pre-Contract Estimator for Civil Engineering and Rail Projects

We are seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join our pre-contract team in the South region, supporting our business units throughout Wales, Western, and the South East. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for estimating contracts and projects during the pre-contract/tender stage for a range of multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Effective registration, control, and administration of tender documentation
- Preparation and management of tenders from receipt of documents through to delivery
- Presentation of tenders to senior management at tender review meetings
- Liaison with the Supply Chain team in respect of placing supplier/subcontractor enquiries
- Technical and commercial appraisal of construction labour, plant, materials, and temporary works
- Take offs from drawings and production of cost-effective tenders from first principles
- Effective analysis and pricing of risks
- Preparation of tender submission documents
- Preparation of estimating reports
- Providing assistance to proposals and contract management functions
- Previous experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in a rail infrastructure environment, including multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks
- First Principles Estimating experience
- Rail and Civil engineering project experience
- Experience as a Senior Estimator in a rail contracting organization
- Competitive annual salary negotiable dependant on experience
