About the Opportunity

AmcoGiffen is seeking an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator to join our pre-contract team in the South region. In this role, you will be instrumental in estimating contracts and projects during the pre-contract/tender stage for a variety of multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on the CP7 framework projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively register, control, and administer tender documentation.
  • Prepare and manage tenders from receipt of documents through to delivery.
  • Present tenders at review meetings to senior management.
  • Liaise with the Supply Chain team on supplier/subcontractor inquiries.
  • Conduct technical and commercial appraisals of labour, plant, materials, and temporary works.
  • Perform take-offs from drawings and produce cost-effective tenders based on first principles.
  • Analyse and price risks associated with tenders.
  • Prepare tender submission documents and estimating reports.
  • Assist in the proposals and contract management functions.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in a rail infrastructure setting, particularly in multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks.
  • Expertise in First Principles Estimating.
  • A solid background in Rail and Civil Engineering projects.
  • Experience working as a Senior Estimator within a rail contracting organisation.
