Company Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a market leading manufacturing business based in Preston. This is a permanent role that has been created due to continued expansion and business growth.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within an FMCG / Industrial maintenance based role within a manufacturing environment with experience working Hydraulics/ Pneumatics / Motors/ pumps/ Conveyors. Experience with Electrical Maintenance is also advantageous including PLC Fault Finding.
This is a shift based role working 4 on 4 off (2 Days 6AM - 6PM + 2 Nights 6PM - 6AM)
Candidates must be time served with a demonstrable background in Mechanical Maintenance.
Job Description
To ensure all equipment is in a safe & serviceable condition to maintain & enhance performance of all machinery, reduce engineering downtime, respond rapidly to machine failures & breakdowns, undertake projects and assist with all on-site installations, keep open and clear lines of communication with management and fellow colleagues, undertake, develop & improve planned maintenance schedules, prioritize work within the engineering department & deploy resources accordingly, identify training needs or 'weak spots' within the department, ensure all equipment is in a safe & serviceable condition to maintain & enhance performance of all machinery within the corrugating / conversion plant
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance role within a Fast paced manufacturing environment, Time Served with a demonstrable background in Mechanical Maintenance, Familiar with Simens PLC's, Knowledge of Mechanical systems including Conveyors/ Hydraulics/ Pneumatics/ Motors/ Pumps, Strong communication skills.
