About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team as a Building Services Expert. This role will involve working on a varied portfolio of projects, providing technical advice to clients, preparing fee proposals, and delivering refurbishment and upgrade projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a diverse range of projects in the UK and internationally
  • Provide expert technical advice to clients on mechanical engineering services in existing buildings
  • Prepare and submit high-quality fee proposals to secure new business
  • Lead and deliver refurbishment and upgrade projects from inception to completion
  • Undertake condition surveys of mechanical installations and produce detailed reports and recommendations
  • Develop and implement mechanical designs and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Produce feasibility studies for mechanical infrastructure replacement or upgrade
  • Conduct technical due diligence reporting and ensure all work is completed to the highest standards
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Represent the company at project meetings and negotiate with clients and other professionals
  • Manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and deliver quality results

Requirements:

  • Chartered engineer or close to chartered status
  • Excellent technical knowledge in mechanical design engineering and building services
  • Strong experience in use of standards and codes applied in building services
  • Ability to undertake MEP building services surveys with minimal supervision
  • Good understanding of regulatory and standards documentation
  • Experience working on projects in existing buildings and conducting site inspections
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Able to lead small to medium-sized projects and take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
