About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our CAMHS West community team as a General Practitioner. The successful candidate will have a recognized professional qualification in nursing, social work, or occupational therapy and a strong understanding of mental health disorders in children and young people.

The role involves working with children and young people, their families, and carers to provide assessment, treatment, and evaluation of treatment provided to clients referred to the team. The successful candidate will be enrolled in a postgraduate diploma with the University of Exeter and will receive supervision from a Systemic Family Therapist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Family Practice
  • Work as a trainee in our dynamic community CAMHS service, under close supervision
  • Assess, treat, and evaluate treatment provided to clients referred to the team
  • Develop knowledge, skills, and competency in SFP for adolescents with self-harm/depression and their families and for young people (over 10 years) with conduct problems

Essential

  • Recognized professional qualification in nursing, social work, or occupational therapy
  • Evidence of continuous post-qualifying professional development

Desirable

  • Post-qualifying training in therapeutic interventions
