The Role: Driver-in-the-Loop Simulator Specialist

">

You will play a crucial role in achieving best-in-class Driver-in-the-loop Simulator capabilities by working with our colleagues and PU supplier to deliver high-quality results and developing the Simulator systems, tools and processes.

Your Key Responsibilities

">
  • Plan, execute, analyse and report Simulator tests.
  • Support correlation activities to ensure Simulator behaviour matches real car behaviour.
  • Contribute to the development of the driver-in-the-loop simulator (including motion control, cueing, graphics etc.) to advance its capabilities and increase its contribution to real-world car development.
  • Proactively develop vehicle performance analysis methodologies which can be applied to simulator and/or real-world car data.
  • Problem solving in areas of vehicle dynamics and performance as required by the team's priorities.

The Ideal Candidate

">

We are looking for a highly skilled individual with at least two years of experience in developing hardware-in-the-loop simulations. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A First-Class Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, with a good general technical engineering knowledge, a strong mathematical background, and a strong grasp of vehicle dynamics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong time-management and planning abilities.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality designs to crucial deadlines.
  • A minimum of 2 years' professional engineering experience in Formula 1 or another high-level motorsport championship.
  • Expertise in the use of MATLAB/Simulink and Motorsport data analysis software (e.g. Atlas).
  • Experience of programming in Python or C would be an advantage.
