Clinical Leader in Acute Oncology Nursing

We seek an innovative clinical leader with significant experience in Acute Oncology Nursing to support the ongoing development of our services. The ideal candidate will inspire, support, and develop the team with shared values, prioritizing patient-centered care delivery and service transformation.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will undertake triage of patients referred by medical colleagues across the Trust. You will provide guidance and support to clinical colleagues on investigating, caring for, and managing this group of patients, ensuring access to faster and better care for those with complications of cancer (early recognition, improved treatment, rapid referral to specialist teams as appropriate, including oncology and palliative care).
The post holder will collect and present service data at local and national meetings.

Person Specification
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Registered Nurse qualification
- Relevant degree
- Master's level qualification in non-medical prescribing and advanced assessment skills
- Recognized post-registration qualification in cancer nursing
- Advanced communication skills training
Desirable:
- Masters in Advanced Practice or working towards
Knowledge and Experience

- Experience as a Cancer CNS role at Band 7 or above in Acute Oncology
- Staff/team management experience
- Knowledge of Cancer Waiting Time initiatives and their implications for care pathways
- Knowledge of Cancer Care pathways
