Oncology Charge Nurse Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Oncology and Palliative Directorate for a Band 6 Charge Nurse (Oncology Day Unit) at Charing Cross Hospital. We are seeking an experienced oncology nurse with excellent leadership skills to join our forward-thinking team.
This is a great opportunity for a confident and committed clinical leader who is driven by challenges and demonstrates personal resilience working in a fast-paced care environment.
The successful applicant will require a proven track record of change management, a passion for developing a culture of continuous improvement with particular emphasis on patient experience, CQC compliance, and key clinical outcomes.
Main DutiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality services to our patients, with a focus on improving the patient experience and ensuring CQC compliance.
The role will involve leading a team of nurses and contributing to the development of the Oncology Day Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement change management strategies to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Lead a team of nurses to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Contribute to the development of the Oncology Day Unit, including the development of policies and procedures.
- Relevant specialist course or equivalent experience in oncology nursing.
- Recognised chemotherapy course or equivalent.
- Has attained or is willing to work towards a Degree/BSC in nursing.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to appraise staff and willingness to learn new skills.
- Competency in medication administration, including IV drugs and chemotherapy certification.
