Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our Governance team on a hybrid basis, with the opportunity to work from one of our offices in Cheltenham, Leeds, Glasgow, Liverpool, or Bristol.

This role will involve drafting, negotiation, and reviewing of commercial contracts, tenders, engagement letters, NDA's, licences amongst others. You will also support firmwide legal issues, recommend firmwide precedents, maintain internal legal documents, and assist with interpretation and understanding of legislation, regulation, and external legal advice.

The ideal candidate will have experience gained in-house or in private practice, with knowledge of contract law, intellectual property, information security, and data protection, including GDPR experience. Financial services, FCA regulation, and pensions experience is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, negotiation, and reviewing of commercial contracts
  • Supporting firmwide legal issues
  • Recommending firmwide precedents
  • Maintaining internal legal documents
  • Assisting with interpretation and understanding of legislation, regulation, and external legal advice
