Job Title: Accident and Emergency Nurse

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accident and Emergency Nurse to join our team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Neonatal Unit, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients in the Neonatal Unit
  • Lead and coordinate shifts, working independently and as part of a team
  • Support junior staff and students, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Ensure effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and families
  • Act as shift coordinator, ensuring smooth handovers and continuity of care
Requirements:
  • Current NMC Registration (RN / RSCN/ RN CHILD)
  • Degree in nursing studies or healthcare related subject (UK equivalent) or evidence of currently working towards this
  • Mentorship certificate/ Practice Assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Experience as a Band 5, with Neonatal Intensive Care Experience within the past 24 months
  • Ability to work without supervision, with complex, sensitive, or contentious information
