King's Lynn, Norfolk, United Kingdom The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust Full time
Job Overview

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Nursing to join our dynamic team in West Norfolk. This is a rare opportunity to be part of the New Hospital Programme, a visionary initiative shaping the future of healthcare delivery up to 2030 and beyond.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will work alongside the Associate Medical Director to provide multidisciplinary clinical leadership for the design of clinical services, pathways, and processes. This will involve engaging staff, patients, and the public in the co-production process to create a new health and care facility that meets the needs of both the population it will serve and the staff who will provide care.

The role will centre on bringing together the views of QEHKL's clinicians with those of its service users and system-wide stakeholders to design a clinical model that is fit for the future. The initial output will be a clinical design brief that informs the shape and content of the new facility, driving material strides in quality and outcomes while addressing key healthcare issues such as sustainability, inequality, and prevention.

Working for Our Organisation

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast, and not far from Sandringham House. We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics, and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire.

We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in improving patient measured outcomes and patient safety indicators within their current role. They will also have excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate, and be IT literate. Additionally, they will have knowledge and application of research methodologies and implementation of clinical audit methodologies.

The successful candidate will be able to analyse, interpret, and act upon complex data, have an understanding and experience of staff and organisational development, and be able to motivate others. They will also have a strong sense of commitment to openness, honesty, and integrity in undertaking the role.

Benefits

We offer our staff a wide range of benefits and support, including flexible working opportunities, free counselling service, NHS Pension scheme, access to Wagestream, support and advice for staff affected by either Peri-Menopause or Menopause, free parking for all staff until March 2024, and the opportunity to join our Staff Networks.
