Radiation Safety Specialist

As a Radiation Safety Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and delivering a routine radiological protection and occupational hygiene service. You will provide specialized monitoring support for various radiological and workplace hazards.
Your responsibilities will include performing routine surface and airborne contamination monitoring to control radiological and beryllium hazards. You will also respond to urgent requests for health physics cover, providing advice and monitoring in response to incidents such as spills or releases of radioactivity.
The estimated salary for this role is £40,000-£60,000 per annum. The location of the role is Culham, Oxfordshire, UK. This position requires recent experience of operational radiological protection and a good working knowledge of the Ionising Radiation Regulations (IRR17). A strong understanding of radiation safety practices is essential.
