About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinical psychologist to lead our regional neuropsychiatry service based at University Hospital Llandough in Cardiff. As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing expert leadership, professional, and clinical services to individuals with acquired brain injury and complex mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will join our multidisciplinary team, working closely with the Psychology Head of Specialty and the Directorate of Mental Health Services for Older People and Neuropsychiatry. You will be expected to lead on all aspects of clinical psychology within the service, including direct clinical assessments, interventions, formulations, strategic direction, service development, supervision, consultancy, education, and research/audit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the clinical psychology service within the regional neuropsychiatry service
  • Provide expert clinical assessments and interventions
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the service
  • Serve as an expert advisor on clinical neuropsychiatry within the UHB

Person Specification

  • Good Honours degree in Psychology with eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the BPS
  • Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology accredited by the HCPC (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS)
  • HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
