About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused individual to join our team as a School Travel Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational provision for the School Travel Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update the school travel database with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Children's Services, Health and Safety, Procurement, schools, colleges, parents, and other agencies.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, customers, and other agencies.
  • Problem-solve and negotiate to overcome challenging situations in a practical and timely manner.
  • Plan and ensure appropriate arrangements are in place for short and medium-term needs.
  • Participate in an office cover rota, which may involve early starts and late finishes.
  • Work a 18.50-hour week, with a Wednesday half-day, Thursday, and Friday 7.4 hours per day.

Requirements:

  • Organisational skills with high levels of concentration and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills to overcome challenging situations.
  • Planning skills to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and self-motivation.
  • IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and databases.
