Stockport, Stockport, United Kingdom Stockport Council Full time
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Policy and Improvement Officer to join our regional team at Stockport Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in bringing together stakeholders and helping local authorities respond to new policy developments.

As a Policy and Improvement Officer, you will work closely with local authorities, providers, and other partners to identify, evaluate, and share good and emerging practice across the sector. You will be responsible for writing to a high standard and presenting confidently to a range of audiences.

About the Team

The North West Association of Directors of Children's Services (NWADCS) is a collaborative service working across the region's 24 local authorities. We are a small regional team that mostly works remotely, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work creatively and independently.

At Stockport Council, we are one ambitious team on a mission to create opportunities for everyone who lives, works, and spends time in the borough. We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce culture and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities to join our workforce.

What We Offer

We offer a range of flexible and hybrid working arrangements, inclusive employment policies, and staff engagement forums to support our diverse workforce. We will listen to, learn from, and develop our workforce.

We are proud to be recognised under the Good Employment Charter as an organisation committed to the wellbeing of our colleagues. We pay the real living wage, engage staff in key decisions, and endorse fair and flexible working conditions.

How to Apply

If you would like to find out more about the role, please contact Paul Bunker, Head of Children's Sector Led Improvement on paul.bunker@stockport.gov.uk for an informal discussion about the role.
