Job Description

Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated junior designer to join our design team at The Blues Group, a leading apparel license supplier in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on current fashion trends, materials, and techniques to inform the design process.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences.
  • Support designers in generating and maintaining a high standard of design within customer briefs, adhering to deadlines.
  • Assist in creating concept boards and mood boards for each season or collection.
  • Collaborate with designers to sketch initial design ideas and source fabrics, Pantones, trims, and embellishments.
  • Attend fitting sessions and make amendments to designs as needed.
  • Maintain design development from initial meetings with customers to ensure accurate placement of orders.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of customer bases to create designs that meet their needs.
  • Chase samples from factories and respond to customer and factory queries.

Requirements:

  • 2 years' experience in a junior designer role.
  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field or relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively across departments.
