Position Overview:

A Senior Technical Architect is sought to contribute to a groundbreaking platform initiative that delivers comprehensive AI solutions for both internal and external stakeholders. This role is intricate and fulfilling, encompassing a wide range of responsibilities from Identity and Access Management (IAM) to API design and Master Data Management (MDM). It necessitates extensive core architecture expertise and a pragmatic approach to making pivotal design choices, weighing all trade-offs, and effectively communicating strategies and rationale to engineering teams and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will join a team of four technical architects dedicated to the ongoing architecture and enhancement of our platform. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in substantial technical architecture across integration, application, and data model domains.
  • Familiarity with API design, data model architecture, and the ability to make informed decisions regarding platform architecture while considering trade-offs.
  • Hands-on development experience is essential, as you will be expected to collaborate closely with engineers and participate in code reviews.
  • Direct interaction with clients, including both technical and non-technical personnel, necessitating strong communication skills.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Proven experience with GCP serverless components and their integration to create robust, high-availability solutions.
  • Extensive background in designing and documenting architectures and applications within GCP, addressing a variety of technical and non-technical constraints.
  • Experience in making critical design decisions and maintaining architecture decision records, ensuring effective communication of decisions to diverse stakeholders.
  • Expertise in API design, documentation, and versioning, along with practical implementation of common GCP components.
  • Leadership experience in guiding a development team from a design and technical ownership perspective.
  • In-depth knowledge of application architecture in GCP, including familiarity with suitable technologies and patterns for various use cases.
  • Experience in estimating large-scale architectural changes, identifying key risks and dependencies, and developing a prioritized roadmap.
  • Hands-on development experience, preferably in Python, and familiarity with the complexities of enterprise software.
  • Experience in designing software for multi-tenant environments and data model simplification.
  • Strong written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.
  • A quality-first mindset, including familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code languages and advocating for developer quality through testing and code reviews.

Desirable Skills:

Additional skills that would be advantageous include:

  • Understanding of the C4 Model for Software Architecture.
  • Experience applying DevOps principles.
  • Knowledge of AI applications in the context of model capabilities and use cases.
  • Familiarity with headless architectures and their interaction with back-end systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Java.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of diagrams-as-code methodologies.
