Job Title: Principal Civil and Structural Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Civil and Structural Engineer to join our Design and Engineering UK team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all civil and structural engineering aspects of data center design projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership on projects, including providing technical expertise in civil and structural engineering.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure that all project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Lead a team of engineers, deliver quality and robust deliverables, and ensure that all project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Support our global teams (NL & GER) on data center projects and assist our UK Light Industry Team with a range of projects from industrial and commercial.
- Ensure that the structures are designed to meet the necessary building codes and standards, including the design of foundations, structural steel, concrete, and other structural elements.
- Work closely with other discipline teams involved in the design process, including mechanical and electrical engineers, architects, and project managers.
- Produce design calculations, including using 3D modeling software, checking and reviewing of calculations produced by others.
- Prepare specifications, and assistance with contract documents.
- Conduct inspections and surveys, preparation of reports, structural analysis, and reporting.
Commercial and Management Duties:
- Assist the Advisory Group in proposal writing, marketing, and business development for structural work as required.
- Commercial and technical management of projects within the office, ensuring that projects show a profitable result.
Requirements:
- BEng / MEng in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Good project management skills.
- Good presentation and bid writing skills.
- Industrial Buildings.
- Food and Beverage.
- Automotive.
- German/Dutch Language is beneficial.
- Knowledge of BIM processes (ISO19650) and implementation.
- Some experience of Common Data Environment platforms such as Asite, BIM360, Viewpoint or Aconex.
- Proficient in relevant software tools, including AutoCAD, Revit, and structural and Civil software's.
- Experience in parametric design tools for automation such as Dynamo / Grasshopper or Python is desirable.
- Knowledge and practical experience of Calculation / modeling Software: TEKLA Structural Designer.
- Hold a full UK driving license.
