Role Overview

Ramboll is seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to lead the structural engineering design of projects in diverse sectors and scale.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical accuracy and efficiency of structural designs to reduce embodied carbon to a minimum.
  • Encourage and celebrate innovative design, ensuring the best service and holistic building outcomes for clients.
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians to deliver projects to programme, to an excellent standard and within budget.
  • Contribute to the development of technical skills and processes, assisting the training and development of your immediate team.
  • Delight clients by building and maintaining excellent relationships through clear proactive communication and engagement at all project stages.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers and technicians, delivering high-profile projects in various sectors. As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the structural design of projects, ensuring technical accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver excellent results.

Requirements

  • Chartered Structural Engineer with at least 12 years of experience.
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent in structural/civil engineering.
  • Relevant experience and insight in various sectors, such as schools, higher education, residential, commercial, or industrial development.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering accurate and innovative designs through collaboration and management of other engineers and technicians.
  • Ability to design conceptually, with an appreciation of multi-discipline coordination and known for delighting architects through capture and development of their ideas.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbally, and through digital media.
  • Experience in planning and monitoring the commercial performance of an engineering consultancy as a business, including contract management.
