Job Overview

NHS Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust is seeking a skilled Lead Pharmacist for Medication Effectiveness to join their dynamic team. This role involves leading the provision and assurance of governance and medication safety agenda in line with agreed objectives. The successful candidate will manage and reduce medicines-related risks, ensuring compliance with the Trust Medicines Policy and medicines legislation.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a patient-focused team that is passionate about its roles, supports and develops each other and colleagues across the healthcare system. As a Senior Lead Pharmacist, you will be responsible for managing and reducing medicines-related risks, ensuring compliance with the Trust Medicines Policy and medicines legislation. You will also provide leadership and support to the Medicines Safety Pharmacy Technician.

Key Responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for:
  • Managing and reducing medicines-related risks
  • Ensuring compliance with the Trust Medicines Policy and medicines legislation
  • Leading the provision and assurance of governance and medication safety agenda
  • Providing leadership and support to the Medicines Safety Pharmacy Technician

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Post-graduate diploma/MSc in clinically-based pharmacy or recognised equivalent
  • Pharmacy degree (BPharm, BSc or MPharm)
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Work, communicate and provide effective leadership within a team
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication to ensure liaison with multi-disciplinary team, patients and carers and to ensure records are kept accurately and legibly.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £53,755 to £60,504 per annum pro rata, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a range of benefits, including generous annual leave entitlement, pension, and access to NHS discount schemes.
