Mental Health Support Assistant

RIBBONS AND REEVES is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Assistant to join our team in Barnet. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to secondary school students aged 11-16 who are facing emotional and mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group support to students who are struggling with their mental health, working closely with school staff, counsellors, and other professionals to deliver tailored mental health strategies.
- Run workshops and facilitate mindfulness activities to help students manage their wellbeing and develop coping strategies.
- Offer guidance and support to students who may need extra help outside of regular lessons, ensuring they feel heard and understood.
Requirements:
- Good understanding of mental health issues affecting young people, with a passion for helping students improve their emotional wellbeing.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team, with empathy and a non-judgmental approach.
- Experience in schools or similar settings is desirable but not essential, as long as you have a genuine interest in supporting young people.
