Mental Health Practitioner - First Contact Service

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you spearheading the delivery of a vital mental health service within designated practices across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of the First Contact Mental Health Service, ensuring efficient resource allocation and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and interventions autonomously, demonstrating a strong clinical acumen and decision-making ability.
  • Collaborate effectively with General Practitioners (GPs) and practice staff to foster a cohesive and integrated approach to patient care.
Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Advanced health assessment skills and a proven ability to conduct thorough evaluations.
  • Non-medical prescribing qualifications, enabling you to provide a comprehensive range of treatment options.
Experience and Skills

We are seeking candidates with:

  • 5+ years of post-registration experience in mental health care settings.
  • A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage complex cases effectively.
  • Experience across primary, community, and secondary care environments.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and management techniques.
