About the RoleThe Care of the Elderly Team at Furness General Hospital consists of 4 substantive physicians who work on a 36-bedded elderly care ward, providing in-reach services to the Emergency Department for frailty and stroke assessments. The team is supported by advanced clinical practitioners, nurse consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the expansion of services, including the development of a Virtual Ward to support elderly patients attending FGH. You will be expected to share duties with other team members to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-standard medical care to elderly patients on the ward and in community settings.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Contribute to the expansion of services, including the Virtual Ward project.
- Participate in educational activities and training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000-£110,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include generous annual leave, pension scheme, and health insurance.
