Job Title: BSL (British Sign Language) Sessional Interpreter

NHS Scotland is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to all patients, including those who require language support. We are seeking qualified and experienced BSL interpreters to join our team and provide interpretation services in a variety of healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and consistent interpretation services between patients and healthcare staff in a healthcare setting.
  • Work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, health centers, and patient homes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and healthcare staff to ensure effective communication.
  • Evidence relevant experience of working as an interpreter in a public sector, advocacy, or legal environment.
Requirements:
  • Currently registered as a qualified BSL interpreter with either the SRLPDC or the NRCPD.
  • Fluent in British Sign Language with the appropriate training and experience to interpret with consistency and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
