**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Project Research Scientist to join our well-established bioinformatics team at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for new projects to understand the genetic architecture of inherited heart diseases and evaluate genomic biomarkers for prognostic and therapeutic stratification.

Our research aims to understand the genetic basis of cardiovascular disease, particularly inherited cardiomyopathies, and to extract clinically useful information from the genome for application in patient care.

About You
  • You will need a PhD (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a Biological/Medical field including Genetics or a closely related discipline.
  • In this post, you will initially focus on analyses of dilated (DCM) cardiomyopathy, identifying common & rare variant associations with disease, and searching for genetic modifiers of penetrance and expressivity that will both identify therapeutic targets and provide biomarkers for patient stratification.
