Job Title: Fundraising Officer

Groundwork East is seeking a skilled Fundraising Officer to join our team. As a Fundraising Officer, you will play a crucial role in generating income for our activities across the East of England.

About the Role

The Fundraising Officer will support the generation of income, primarily through identifying suitable sources of charitable trust and foundation funding, as well as tender opportunities for projects and programmes of activity.

You will use your exceptional communication skills to write high-quality, persuasive copy that showcases our charity's work to potential funders, including charitable trusts, BIG lottery, local authorities, and central government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the external funding environment to identify suitable sources of charitable trust and foundation funding and tender opportunities for projects and programmes of activity.
  • Develop and write high-quality, persuasive copy that brings our charity's work to life for potential funders.
  • Use your research skills to identify and pursue new funding opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with funders, stakeholders, and colleagues to ensure successful grant funding applications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of successful grant funding from trusts, foundations, lottery distributors, or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking high-quality research.
  • The ability to quickly develop a detailed understanding of wide-ranging and complex topics.
  • A genuine interest and enthusiasm for fundraising work.
