About the Role

As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for supervising catering services and ensuring exceptional customer experiences across various dining venues within our institution. Your primary objective will be to maintain high service standards while adhering to strict hygiene protocols.

You will work closely with our Front of House Manager to plan and coordinate meal periods, assigning staff according to service requirements. This includes overseeing table assignments, preparing and setting up for meal service, and ensuring staff are correctly uniformed and meet approved standards.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Supervise meal periods to guarantee exceptional customer service and adherence to agreed service standards.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative strategies to enhance service standards, responding to changing customer needs and preferences.
  3. Liaise with colleagues to ensure smooth operations during meal periods, allocating staff resources as required.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized working environment, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
  5. Support events such as refreshment breaks, drinks receptions, and al fresco dining throughout the college, providing excellent service to attendees.
  6. Clean and polish silverware, glassware, and other specialist service items, maintaining the highest standards of presentation.
  7. Receive deliveries, inspecting products for accuracy and quality before storing them correctly.
  8. Process wine orders for Hall and Bar as needed.
  9. Select and prepare wines for SCR in advance of service.
  10. Oversee the cleaning schedule for SCR and Arco food and beverage areas, ensuring equipment is properly maintained.
  11. Open and close the bar according to agreed schedules.
  12. Conduct thorough checks of fridges, back bars, and bottle stock prior to opening the bar.
  13. Perform daily till reconciliations.
  14. Create accurate staff rotas.
  15. Verify staff attendance, monitoring signing-in sheets and addressing any issues promptly.
  16. Provide guidance and supervision to casual bar staff during shifts.
  17. Prioritize weekly pipe cleaning tasks.
  18. Adhere to good stock management practices.
  19. Ensure order is maintained in the cellar and stockroom.
