Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary pupil referral unit (PRU) in the Chorley area. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) on a 1:1 basis, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

About the School:

Our PRU provides a nurturing and restorative environment for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education. We offer a range of programs and activities to help students improve their behavior and learning, and our team is committed to providing a safe and supportive space for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH difficulties
* Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
* Assist with the delivery of lessons and activities to support student learning
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior

Requirements:

* Level 3 or 4 teaching assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Relevant experience working with students with SEMH difficulties
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
