Job Title: Professor in Agricultural Science

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor in Agricultural Science to join our newly established Writtle School of Agriculture, Animal and Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate will play a lead role in developing ARU Writtle's reputation in smart and sustainable Agriculture.

About the Role:

The Professor will be responsible for leading research and teaching in the area of agricultural science, with a focus on sustainable agriculture. They will also contribute to the development of the School's research strategy and collaborate with colleagues to enhance research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead research and teaching in agricultural science, with a focus on sustainable agriculture.
  2. Develop and implement the School's research strategy in agricultural science.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance research activities and secure external funding.
  4. Contribute to the development of the School's curriculum and teaching programs.
  5. Supervise research students and provide guidance on research projects.

Requirements:

  • PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant subject.
  • Significant and successful research profile, with evidence of publications and external research funding.
  • Excellent understanding of the research environment in the UK and globally.
  • Ability to contribute to teaching, particularly in the area of research project supervision.
