About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professor to join our Writtle School of Agriculture, Animal and Environmental Sciences, within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. As a Professor, you will play a lead role in developing our university's reputation in smart and sustainable Agriculture.

You will be expected to demonstrate leadership in research and have an excellent and active record of research income generation. You will be connected to a wide external network, including funding bodies and/or industrial partners, using your knowledge and experience to assist colleagues in enhancing their research activities.

The successful candidate will also contribute to teaching, particularly in the area of research project supervision at undergraduate and MSc levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead research projects in smart and sustainable Agriculture
  • Generate research income and build external partnerships
  • Contribute to teaching and research project supervision
  • Lead and manage research teams
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD, Professional Doctorate, or equivalent technical specialization, and/or a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject, along with a significant and successful research profile evidenced by publications and a history of achieving external research funding, including commercially sponsored research and knowledge exchange.

An excellent understanding of the research environment in the UK and globally is essential.
