Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our community-based team in Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients and their families, helping them to live their lives to the fullest.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support patients with their daily needs, including personal care, medication management, and emotional support.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, helping them to cope with the challenges of a terminal illness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for patients.

Requirements

  • 6 months' experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a palliative care environment.
  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent alternative Level 2 Qualification.
  • Functional skills at level 2 in numeracy and literacy or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Emotional strength and resilience, with the ability to cope with the demands of working in a palliative care environment.
