**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Support Specialist to join our Resilience Around the Family Team (RAFT) at the Isle of Wight Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing intensive interventions to families to support children to remain safely at home.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Plan and deliver interventions in conjunction with social workers and children and their parents/carers to support families to make positive changes and enrich their family life.
  • Provide parenting advice and guidance, mediation, and family agreements, as well as child-focused work to support families in need.
  • Work collaboratively with the RAFT team, a multidisciplinary team offering specialist areas of support for families, to improve outcomes for them.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to strengthen parenting capacity, reduce risk, and support children to remain living safely at home.

**Requirements**

  • Proven experience in working with families and children in a social care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple demands.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
