About the Role

As a Lead Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing a high-performing category team, utilizing effective leadership, communication, and engagement to drive business growth.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category plans to ensure delivery of sales, margin, and profit targets while maintaining product availability.
  • Lead the category team, manage performance, and encourage team development to support Booker's 'Making Everyone Welcome' and 'A Place to Get On' initiatives.
  • Grow the own brand business by sourcing products that increase sales and margins.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive terms and provide coaching to the team as needed.
  • Seek and respond to customer feedback to inform category planning and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the Business Code of Conduct and champion diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and make commercial decisions.
  • Attention to detail, report writing, data interpretation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Previous experience in category management.
