Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver

We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 driver to join our team at Driver Hire Uxbridge. As a Class 2 driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to our customers in the UB postcode area.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary ad-hoc position, with shifts not guaranteed. You will be paid between £17.00 and £19.00 per hour, depending on experience, overtime, nights, weekends, and bank/public holidays.

Requirements:
  • Valid UK CAT C licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN or MS90 endorsements)
  • Valid CPC and TACHO
  • Manual driving licence
  • Over 25 years old for insurance purposes
  • At least 1 year HGV Class 2 driving experience (references required)
  • More than 90 days appropriate driving experience (Cat C) in the past 12 months
  • Physically fit, as some jobs require lifting and shifting
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards
Shifts and Duties:

As a Class 2 driver, you will be responsible for:

  • Communicating with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
  • Performing routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels
  • Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
  • Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
Pay and Benefits:

We offer:

  • Minimum 8 hours pay per day
  • Overtime paid after 9 hours (breaks not paid)
  • Pay between £17.00 and £19.00 per hour (rates differ for experience, nights, weekends, bank/public holidays, and overtime)
  • Auto-enrolment pension after 3 months
