The Naval Supply Systems Command is a leading organization in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Our mission is to provide high-quality supplies and services to the Navy, Marine Corps, Joint and Allied Forces, whenever and wherever they are needed.
Our Workforce
We have a diverse workforce of approximately 1790 military personnel and over 24,000 employees, with major activities located in various locations around the world. Our workforce is comprised of highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to delivering combat capability through logistics.
Our Mission
We are responsible for overseeing logistics programs in the areas of supply operations, conventional ordnance, contracting, resale, fuel, transportation, and security assistance. In addition, we are responsible for quality of life issues for our naval forces, including food service, postal services, Navy Exchanges, and movement of household goods.

Job Responsibilities
Contracting Specialists perform work involving the evaluation of contract price proposals, and/or advertising, negotiating, administering, and/or terminating contracts for the acquisition/repair of supplies and services using formal procedures. They exercise decision-making powers on contracting matters, displaying good business acumen consistent with the organization's strategic goals.
Requirements
Candidates must meet minimum qualifications for the position and educational eligibility requirements. This recruiting event does not require traditional rating and ranking procedures as stated in OPM policy guidelines.
