Fleet Control Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Control Engineer to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our Services Central Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing 24-hour line-of-route engineering support for all Alstom's Regional & Intercity fleets.
Key Responsibilities- Collate and analyse train data to identify defects in a timely manner.
- Support the business and customer in resolving engineering and operational issues related to fleet performance.
- Provide technical expertise and support in delivering Alstom's contractual obligations.
- Coordinate and provide operational support for service incidents.
- Manage service affecting failures through effective communication with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Record events and categorise them accordingly in relevant business tools.
- Analyse data from system downloads to determine corrective actions.
- Ensure appropriate corrective actions are entered in relevant business tools.
- Communicate with the AOC and Operations team to ensure defects are cleared at the earliest opportunity.
- Review the fleet defect position to minimise the risk of service failures.
- Provide technical and operational advice to depots in relation to service delivery.
- Authorise concessions subject to operational restrictions defined by the customer.
- Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all train systems, the running railway, and relevant business tools.

- Practical experience and a sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering aspects of modern rolling stock.
- Technical experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the UK running railway, including the 'Rule Book' and B6.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- IT skills, including business tools relevant to the role, Rail_Sys, MS office packages, email, and intranet.
