Job Title: Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a brilliant Special school in the Cheltenham area.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working closely with students aged 4-19 who have a wide range of special needs and disabilities, including ASD, SEMH, PMLD, SLD, and other complex needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide general classroom support and specific 1-1 support inside and outside of the classroom, working closely with the teaching staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with complex needs, including ASD, SEMH, PMLD, SLD, and other disabilities.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide general classroom support, including assisting with lessons, managing behavior, and supporting students with their learning.
  • Offer 1-1 support to students, including helping with personal care, communication, and social skills.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in response to the changing needs of our students.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing circumstances.
  • Enthusiasm, positivity, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
